Alexander’s Ragtime Band plays and loves the original Jazz, the music of the pioneers from New Orleans such as King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and many more.
Our sound is inspired by the bands from San Francisco at the time of the New Orleans Revival in the middle of the last century (e.g. Lu Watters and his Yerba Buena Jazzband). The specific feature of this sound is the two trumpets and the "fat" sound of the rhythm section, which contains tuba, piano, banjo and drums.
